Student of Jinnah Medical College secure top position in MBBS

PESHAWAR: A student of Jinnah Medical College (JMC) secured first position among all the private medical colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the final year of MBBS announced by the Khyber Medical University (KMU).

Shakirullah Khan, son of Mobin Khan, secured 1371 marks and was declared as the first position holder among students of the private medical colleges.

Farah Gul daughter of Mushtaq Khan of Khyber Medical College (KMC) got first position by securing 1393 marks, followed by another student of KMC, Mohammad Tabish Ikram son of Mohammad Ikram by obtaining 1384 marks.

Besides getting the first position among the private medical colleges, Shakirullah Khan of JMC was declared 5th position holder among all the medical colleges of the province, including public and private sector institutions.

Prof Dr Ameer Khan, principal JMC, congratulated Shakirullah Khan and his faculty members.

Prof Ameer Khan joined the college a year ago and brought to gather the best available teachers for ensuring quality education in the college.

However, despite having fulfilled all requirements, the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) is yet to spare time and visit the college so it can start admissions.

The PMC had stopped some of the private medical colleges including JMC three years ago due to deficiencies.

“After joining the college as principal, I focused on overcoming deficiencies, completing my faculty, infrastructure and equipment. And now we are anxiously waiting for the PMC to visit us so we can start admissions,” Prof Ameer Khan explained.
